I just loaded down a really fun free app for both the iPad and the iPhone. It is called Beatwave by collect3.com . You can easily create some nice loops with a graphical interface that requires no music knowledge. With a little musical knowledge you can create a nice backing loop that you can even jam over. With a little pitch bend or changing the pitch in the app you might have yourself a nice pad to layer behind a song.

You can even draw pictures on the interface and see what it sounds like. Hmmmm, sounds like it would keep the kids busy for awhile…. especially if headphones are used!
Load it from the app store, of course……
