I began the study of music at an early age with piano lessons in the 2nd grade. After 7 years of study with a local teacher, I studied with a professor at Campbell University for 4 years. It was also, during this time I founded an inter-denominational singing group called “The Good News Singers”. For several years. this group flourished traveling the state and mid-Atlantic region, singing and speaking the Good News of Jesus Christ. After graduation from Lillington High School, I attended the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill pursing a BA degree in both Music and English. While at UNC I was a member of the Marching Tarheels, the UNC concert and pep bands. After college, I played professionally for several years touring with several regional pop/jazz/blues bands. Prior to becoming the music leader at the Peak, I led the “Encounter” praise team at Apex UMC from it’s inception.

I have been married to my wonderful wife Diane for 25 years. We have a beautiful daughter, Kristen, who attends the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.

My passion is worship and to minister to and lead God’s people in worship through music and singing. As a worship arts minister “I feel the responsibility to find and encourage all artists in the congregation to develop their talents to glorify God and to help them find the right places to use their gifts. I also seek to develop a loving community of artists and technicians. My ultimate goal is to reach the lost and inspire the faithful in order to build the kingdom for the glory of God”
