Isaiah 40:13- 15 “Who is able to advise the Spirit of the LORD? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him? Has the LORD ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice? NO, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.”
How many times have we tried to ‘get in Gods face’, help HIM along a bit, whether is is trying to tell HIM how HE should answer our prayers, or open the doors to a certain job or employment opportunity!!?? We may be praying to the Lord every day, and then wondering why our prayers aren’t being answered. Are You up there Lord?? It’s me again! Just wondering whats taking you so long in giving me what I have been praying for! I would really appreciate if You could put these concerns of mine somewhere further up Your list of answers, I mean after all, I have been praying for these same things for a while now. I realize that you may be answering prayers ‘in the order received’, but I’m certain that You have heard of “MULTI-TASKING”, I mean with that whole creating everything in 7 days and all. Well, if you need any help, let me know what I can do. I know that You are very busy, so I have to take that in consideration! Thanks GOD. I’ll be waiting!”
How foolish is that!! We need to take a step back, realize that we are really nothing more than just ‘dust on the scales’ and we are just fortunate to be alive and breathing the AIR THAT HE PROVIDED! Need any of us be reminded that there is ONLY ONE GOD, and WE ARE NOT HIM!!! Just read these verses in the 40th chapter of Isaiah lest we forget!!!
I have run across many people in my life, as I am sure many of YOU have also, whom act as though they are GOD- they are so well versed in the Bible, so familiar with HIS word, that feel they actually ‘know the mind of GOD’ and aren’t afraid to let YOU know just how much they know! For me, personally, and this is only my opinion, but I really don’t care how much someon knows, until I know how much they care!”
So my advice to myself, and anyone else who asks is this: GET OUT OF GODS WAY! Psalm 46:10 tells us; “Be still and know that I am GOd!!” So let’s not try and fool ourselves!! WE AREN”T GOD, AND HE DOESN’T NEED OUR ADVICE!!! No one can measure the depths of HIS understanding! HE gives the power to the powerless and strength to the weak, SO LETS PLACE OUR TRUST IN HIM- AFTER ALL, HE IS OUR SUPPLIER, AND THE STRENGTH OF OUR HEARTS! Let us all let go of the reigns of our lives, and LET GOD BE GOD!!!
Dear Heavenly Father- please forgive me when I think that I can in any way advise YOU on what would be best for my life! My best laid plans have gotten me into some pretty big messes, and then when I find myself ‘stuck in a ditch’ of my own making, I call upon YOU to come to my rescue, like I would call TRIPLE A roadside assistance when I have a car malfunction. Thank YOU for loving us in spite of our insistance of trying to HELP YOU out when it’s is that need YOUR HELP!! I give You the reigns of my life now Lord, and plead with YOU to LEAD ME WHERE YOU NEED ME I pray these things in Jesus name. Amen
