Welcome to the WorshipTraining online learning community!

We’d love it if you’d post a bit about yourself. Pretend that you’re meeting someone at a conference for the first time. What would you tell them? Stuff like:
    - Where you’re from.
    - Your role in relation to worship and the arts.
    - Your family.
    - What makes you tick?
    - Whatever is on your mind.

    See below for some examples.

    Welcome! WorshipTraining.com

I am the ministry of music and family at St. Mark Lutheran in De Pere, WI. I feel blessed to have my passion as my occupation. I love the opportunity to make a difference for the Lord, especially in our worship.
I’ve been married to Vicki (kindergarten teacher in our Christian school) for 36 years and have been in the ministry that same length of time. I have three grown children (Jonathan, Jeremy, and Lindsey). Jon is single and on his own. Jeremy is married to Stacy and expecting their first baby. Lindsey is married to Jaie and they have given us three wonderful blessings: Brookyln, Malachi, and Ezekiel.

Hello! My name is Wendy, and I live, with my husband and 5 children, in Amery, Wisconsin. I have had to take about 5 years away from the worship ministry at our church, East Lincoln Alliance, to raise our young children, and am excited to return again, this year! I am a stay-at-home mom, AND a homeschool mom, so life is busy! God has placed a strong vision in my heart for music leadership and I am so happy to have found this wonderful training resource! I play the piano & keyboard along with lead and sometimes back-up vocals.

Hello, I’m Gwyn Goertzen from Nebraska. I play piano and keyboard for our church’s praise team. I’m also a piano teacher and have done both oh these things for many years. The responsibility of critiquing and creating music makes it a challenge to be worshipful. I am looking forward to finding renewal in my approach to praising my Lord through praise music as I lead others.

Hello:) My name is Craig Tesnow. My wife and I live in Findlay, Ohio and attend College First Church of God. We are actively involved in all aspects of our church and I recently retired from a transporation company. I have led worship at our church as a substitute since 2005 and thought now would be a great time to get into the ministry full time. I’m looking forward to the posts and making new friends with you all.

Hi, I’m Mike Robertson. My wife of 34 years and I live in Concord, NC. We are members of Connect Christian Church where I enjoy being a part of the Worship Ministry as a bass guitarist. We have two grandchildren and are fortunate that they live in the area close to us and also attend Connect. It is so cool to hear our four year old grandson say the blessing each Sunday for our family meal. I have played bass for our church for nearly 28 years now and when I look back on my service I realize that God has actually given me way more back in enjoyment, development, and friendships than I could have ever imagined would be possible. What a blessing!!

Hello, I’m Cora Cipriano. I live in Geneva, Switzerland with my husband and two boys. I am a worship leader in the church where we are members for 21 years already. I have led the Praise & Worship ministry/department in our church for more than 10 years. The whole family has been actively involved in the worship team especially. God has answered my prayer concerning my children that they would grow up serving Him also in the worship ministry. They are both anointed musicians, to God alone be the glory. My youngest (24) started leading worship last year which I believe was God’s perfect timing. I just love to worship and I am especially drawn to books, articles, teachings about intimacy with God. I believe that it is God who has put this desire in my heart to pursue an intimate relationship with Him. I would like to learn more about worship and in so doing I will be able to share these with the rest of our worship team especially the younger worship leaders. I believe that we never stop learning and that there’s always room for improvement. We want to take our worship time to a higher level. With proper training and teaching, plus the able help and leading of the Holy Spirit, I’m sure nothing will be impossible!

    Hi Everyone,
My name is Naing Oo @ Isaac. I’m from Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. I found praise and worship is very powerful as my life was changed inside out at a praise and worship festival back in my country 12 years ago. That night God’s Holy Spirit descended upon me and revealed his love which overwhelmed and melted my heart. When I opened my eyes I could not see things clearly as my eyes welled up with tear, tear of joy, and sang and danced as King David danced before Lord. That night my life was changed. Since then I took part in our church’s praise and worship team and served many years as a back up singer, guitarist and sometimes a leader, till I moved to Camboida. I’m currently living in Cambodia and partaking in praise and worship team at an international chruch. My passion in music is writing songs. I wrote many gospel songs in my language and recorded them in 2004 with my other 2 friends. These songs had been broadcast by Myanmar christian radio programs for many years. But writing Praise and Worship songs is a tough subject for me as I have tried many times and failed many times to accomplish one song. So, by the Grace of God, I have a wonderful opprutnity to join this online course to get some tips to write praise and worship songs.

I’m Priscilla. I live in Minneapolis. Have been singing my whole life and teaching since I was in high school. Worship is my life. I consider myself an ethnodoxologist, because I seek to use traditional and popular music styles in music in order to reach and relate to various cultures and traditions. After completing two undergraduate music degrees, I did a little bit more than a year of vocal performance graduate work before being prompted to move away from that area. I anticipate starting a liberal studies graduate program in the fall, to prepare for an eventual PhD degree in ethnomusicology or other such area.

Hello! I’m Annie from Kansas, and I am excited to start training up on being a worship leader! I gave my heart to God almost 4 years ago, and have been blessed to use my love for music in church. I recently became the Worship and Tech Ministry Director at my church last summer, and am excited to learn more about what it truly means to lead worship. Currently my family consists of me and my husband, though we hope that we will soon be able to add to the family. :) When not doing musical things, I like to do crafts, garden, and cook.
