Part A: The theological phrase, the “Kingdom of God” as depicted by N. T. Wright has not changed for me, but was emphasized. When Jesus came to this earth, He did come to fulfill the purposes of God, purposes that HE Established and co-created (so to speak). The fact that Israel (in general) and the [...]

@Cegli Connie, the Kingdom of God is all around us, and as you so eloquently expressed, God moves surrounding His creation in fellowship. I appreciate the challenge for humble submission and reverence to our King.

@joshburciaga Josh, I ditto your statement about being clearer on receiving of what God has planned for your life as a worship leader. I also love to sing songs about the God who reigns. Your words are an incentive to keep working in and for God’s Kingdom. Thanks!

    A. My understanding of the phrase, the “Kingdom of God” has been challenged/shaped by this section. N.T. Wright asked the question “What did Jesus mean when He went around telling people that God’s kingdom was coming into being even as He spoke?” His answer was “that Jesus believed that the ancient prophecies were being fulfilled…. Yes, it is here!
“If Jesus has been raised, that means that God’s new world, God’s Kingdom, has indeed arrived; and that means we have a job to do.”

a)The Kingdom of God is all around us — two overlapping spheres where God moves surrounding His creation in fellowship. Dan mentioned a Celtic saying in the media: “thin places”. A beautiful metaphor of effective worship both in community with our church family and in our personal worship experience where His presence is so tangible [...]

@duncann Very well spoken words on your view of God as king, it is true that we do have a society that is lost and searching for that void. Every Sunday I see new people in church and looking and some of them they have tears rolling down there face, while leading worship. The presence of [...]

    A. I love the way it was spoken that the kingdom of god and earth are closely together in similarity, the sounds, the colors the views of gods greatness. Gods kingdom isn’t eons away,it’s close by. It’s time to get to work and help establish gods kingdom. The theological phrase the” kingdom of God” has [...]

@Cegli Connie, your description of how we see the beauty of the Creator is so lovely and imaginable. It is so awesome to meet with Him through nature.

@joshburciaga I certainly agree with what you said regarding churches today yearning for that fire. I think it is the same yearning as long ago, but a different experience. An experience that relates to the day.

Wow! Sorry everyone – a little behind here as I had an old schedule in my hands & thought this class (along with Songwriting) didn’t start till June! But I’d love to jump in if that’s ok! I’ll get caught up right away. :)
I’m Janelle, a worship leader who’s still learning & growing & trying to find my place in the church and in this ministry.

@mrjenks I loved how you describe about choosing songs that move people and making easier for them to connect to god. I like to call old school we do sometimes go back and sing those songs that tell the story, on how it began. Your words inspire me to hear god more clearly. It’s true as [...]

@Jholmes193 , very powerful words I think in these days people are looking for something to believe in they want to fill a void in there life, there looking all over and Christ is right there waiting. Only then will there void will be filled with his love and comfort. I thank god for fueling that [...]

@joshburciaga Your viewpoint has merit. My religious background is such that ritualism forbade the expression of real worship. Everything was/is aligned with the traditional expressions that are, not only rigid, but for most attendants, fake. When I first went to a Church where God was celebrated I was in shock. Part of me wanted to leave, [...]
