Worship Songwriting: Epic Themes, Part 2

  1. While reviewing this session, I looked quickly at one Bible teacher’s classification of the Psalms and was surprised to see how many “Songs of Lament” were listed. I welcome the opportunity to bring God our deepest sorrows for his healing, rather than to deny or distract ourselves from our own pain. Denial and distraction have never helped me, they have only pushed my pain to inappropriately overflow into other areas of life.
I want to offer other worshippers in my church a mechanism to find healing. I want to write God songs

    • @tulong Well put! That’s exactly it. “I welcome the opportunity to bring God our deepest sorrows for his healing, rather than to deny or distract ourselves from our own pain.”
