This is a rough draft of a very simple song.  Writing for me usually comes when I least expect it, I don’t usually assign myself a song project.  So, having this assignment and needing to meet a deadline was a  bit outside the lines for me.  Not saying that is a bad thing, of course.  After reviewing from the past several weeks the course materials and notes that I have taken, I believe N.T. Wrights description of coming before God in a humble state of awe and getting on our faces before our King, really affected me.  Far too often I am wrapped up in preparation, lighting, effects,  and all that goes into planning a service that will teach and reach people (all important stuff).  I wanted to create a song that was just adoration and worship of a King.  I envision the many different sounds of our talented team behind the lyrics to create a loud and energy filled proclamation, but also a quiet time where all is laid down and we come with just voices and hearts.  God will use it as He wishes.  Our people love to sing God’s story and they love to come into humble worship of our King, so I am anxious to see how God uses it.

Connie – Wow! Great job on the song! The passion in what you are singing is contagious! The lyrics are simple and beautiful at the same time. A congregation could catch on easily and join in with what you are singing. I like the chord progression you used on the chorus for “Worthy, worthy, worthy of all praise.” The A minor chord is one of my favorites!! Nicely done!
