This is a piece that is about clinging to the cross.  I have had a heavy burden to stir up the people of God by writing of valley experiences.  Reflecting back on the material that I have taken in on songwriting, I know that this song is far from the finished product, but I think it could have a decent core idea to it.  It is in a very rough state, but I have learned that nine times out of ten, most of our ideas need to be cultivated several times before the finished product is achieved.  Dan has also taught me to sit on some ideas and let them simmer sometimes.  Not all of our songs just pop out, even though it may happen like that sometimes.  All in all, I am moved to write songs that encourage people to hold fast to what the word of God says, no matter what is going on around them.  We all have seen people react to certain instances or let their feelings get the best of them.  I am constantly encouraging my praise team to hold on to that truth of the Word.  My prayer is for men to start standing up and being men of God, and for women to start being godly women.
